Bio
A young orphaned fox youkai. He's rather mischievous and loves to tease Inuyasha. Shippou has grown very attached to Kagome, and seems to think of her like a mother.
Background

Shippou's name literally means 'seven treasures', but there's more wordplay involved. 尻尾 (しっぽ), tail, sounds nearly the same, and one of Shippou's most obvious physical traits is his tail. It's also one of the first things Inuyasha says when they meet.
Current status
Shippou travels with Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, and Kirara.
Special powers, etc.
- 狐火 (きつねび) - Foxfire. Shippou can shoot blasts of green flame, but they're mostly illusion and aren't very hot. More useful as a diversion than anything else, though it can ignite things that burn easily.
- Shippou can use fox youkai magic to change his form. Though he most often uses this to change into a floating balloon large enough to carry a person or two, he can also imitate the appearance of other characters. However, he has a tendency to leave his tail visible, which gives him away.
- Shippou carryies an assortment of toys that have a variety of unexpected effects.
