Resistance Line

More intense and darker than the Disk 1 opening, but then, so is the the storyline, considering how many things go wrong before any resolution happens.

Intro ~ seconds
指先を空にかざし 西の風を頼りに
歪んでる地平線越えてゆこうよ
Yubisaki wo sora ni kazashi nishi no kaze wo tayori ni
Yugande ru chiheisen koete yukou yo
I raise my fingertips to the sky, relying on the west wind.
I'm headed beyond the twisted horizon.
その時に その場所に
斗う1意味があるなら
「失くす」ことを恐れずに飛び出していく
Sono toki ni sono basho ni
Tatakau1 imi aru nara
"Nakusu" koto osorezu ni tobidashite iku
In that time, in that place,
If there's any meaning to putting up a fight,
I'll rush into it without fearing what I might lose.
幾千の赫い2影達 斬りつけたこの腕で
哀しい記憶抱きしめ
始まる未来 その鼓動感じて
Ikusen no akai2 kagetachi kiritsuketa kono ude de
Kanashii kioku dakishime
Hajimaru mirai sono kodou kanjite
With arms slashed by a thousand scarlet2 shadows,
Embrace sorrowful memories
And feel their heartbeat as the future begins.
誰だって本当は誰のことも傷つけたくないと
思っているけれど
守りたい大切なモノあるなら
自分にさえ抗うのだろう
Dare datte hontou wa dare no koto mo kizutsuketakunai to
Omotte iru keredo
Mamoritai taisetsu na MONO aru nara
Jibun ni sae aragau no darou
There's not a person alive who truly wants to hurt anyone.
I believe this, and yet,
If there's something important you want to protect,
You can end up at odds with even yourself.
生きてる今 その全てで Ikite ru ima sono subete de I'm living out all that right now.
Interlude ~ seconds
還りたい場所が有る
愛してる人が居る
絶望に墜ちない理由3はただそれだけ
Kaeritai basho ga aru
Ai shite ru hito ga iru
Zetsubou ni ochinai wake3 wa tada sore dake
I have a home I want to go back to.
I have people I love.
Those are the only reasons I don't fall into despair.
廻り継ぐ時の中 探してきたものが
壊れやすい夢ならば
始まる未来 その強さ信じて
Meguritsugu toki no naka sagashite kita mono ga
Kowareyasui yume naraba
Hajimaru mirai sono tsuyosa shinjite
If what you sought out in the repeating flow of time
Is a fragile dream,
Believe in its strength as the future begins.
誰だって本当は胸の奥に傷みを隠してる
わかっているけれど
守りたい大切なモノあるなら
優しささえ失うのだろう
Dare datte hontou wa mune no oku ni itami wo kakushite ru
Wakatte iru keredo
Mamoritai taisetsu na mono aru nara
Yasashisa sae ushinau no darou
Every last person alive is actually hiding grief deep in their heart.
I know this, and yet,
If there's something important you want to protect,
You can lose even your kindness,
激しさだけ 振りかざして Hageshisa dake furikazashite Brandishing only violent fury.

1 斗う is read たたかう (tatakau), normally written 戦う or 闘う. The kanji 斗, usually a dipper or a traditional measure of volume, doesn't have any meanings that apply here, but is sometimes used as a simplified replacement for 闘. On that note, the two words are essentially synonyms, 戦う tends to have a connotation of a confrontation between rivals (in war, sports, or whatever) where winning is the focus, while 闘う , though it still often involves a confrontation between rivals, tends to indicate more of a struggle against hardships or an effort to defend the interests of a person or group.

2 The kanji 赫 (brilliant, normally read kaku) is given the reading あか (aka) as part of あかい (akai, red).

3 The kanji 理由 (riyuu) are given the reading わけ (wake), but they're essentially synonyms anyway.
