In the middle of the night, someone knocks on the door, but Ryu just sleeps right through it.

He answers the door.

He's not quite awake at first, and the line starts in a yawning noise mashed together with はい (hai). I'm not sure how to effectively imitate the result in English.

A man who looks rather wealthy enters the room, and they talk.

Bosch mulls it over for a few moments, but ultimately decides to agree.

This item would look familiar to players of Breath of Fire if the translation were consistent. It was just called the Cowl there in the English version, though.

Kilgore leaves. Bosch considers rousing Ryu, but thinks better of it.

So Bosch sets out on his own.

Later, Ryu wakes up to a commotion outside. Let's see if anyone knows what's going on, like those guards blocking the way out of town.

Note that Kilgore Trout is a recurring character, or possibly multiple characters, in Kurt Vonnegut's books.

This sounds bad. Ryu goes to investigate, but a woman with the same color scheme as him and what look like bat wings runs into him...

She says this in a very upper-class lady-like sort of way, though it can also come across as affected or mocking.

...and runs off. He tries to follow, but just finds more guards.

Fly... like with, oh, let's say, bat-like wings, perhaps? Yeah, she's long gone.

At least Kilgore regrets what happened.

After his look around, Ryu returns to their apartment to find Bosch waiting for him.

Flash back to Bosch sneaking into the Trout mansion.

Through the door bursts a woman with the same color scheme as Ryu and what look like bat wings. Hey, wait a second...

And with that familiar line, she runs off.

Guards show up as he's trying to leave and make a grab for him, but he slips away. End flashback.

Wait, when did Ryu become the suspect? Another casualty of failed context when translating a language that often likes to leave subjects implied.

However, Ryu naturally isn't the only person who thought to look for Bosch here. A soldier knocks on the door.

Bosch packs himself into the trash can, and Ryu lets the soldier in before he gets too suspicious.

He searches, coming uncomfortably close to the trash can, but finds nothing.

The soldier leaves, but Ryu and the trash can continue to look very nervous.

The trash can hops around the room.

We still need to get him out of town, though, and the gate remains guarded.

The censored version still works quite well. That's fairly impressive.

So it doesn't matter how we respond. Hopefully Niro will be as cooperative.

That shortcut across the mountain comes in handy. Bosch finally comes out of the trash can when we reach the dilapidated house.

A short time later, inside...

Just then, several large chunks of debris fall into the room.

I know they want to keep reminding us that the thief was a woman, but it's starting to get awkward saying so with every mention.

Niro mentioned Corsair, but where's that? Let's just head back to Origin for now...

Let's try asking around.

Magic Academy? Seems a little too high-profile for a burglar.

Too bad this isn't a popularity contest. Otherwise, Bosch could come back to town right away.

That doesn't sound quite like what we're looking for, but it's something similar to a lead, and Niro suggested asking around in Corsair anyway. Time to head northeast!
