Sections with Hymmnos lyrics are listed with the Hymmnos lyrics in the center column (which I always use for pronunciation) and the given Japanese equivalents in the left column in this color to indicate that the Japanese phrases are not the actual lyrics.
In this song, METHOD_METAFALICA/. acts as a patch to fix what was broken in EXEC_METAFALICA/., adding Maoh to the disaterous tale of Rhaplanca in a rewrite that ends in triumph rather than despair. The two songs and two tales are woven together, with large portions of the melody and lyrics coming directly from the originals, some of it subtly modified. I was thinking about noting where this happens, but it shouldn't be that hard to figure out, and the notes were cluttering things up even more than they already are. Footnotes are present where I find something particularly notable.
This song also concludes the tale of Rhaplanca. Neither she nor the great tree Implanta she finally grows nor her companion Maoh nor even the tale itself are mentioned anywhere in the game text itself (that I'm aware of), yet the pieces of her story are highly relevant both to the songs they appear in and to the points in the plot at which these songs are sung. The previous portion of her tale is found in METHOD_METAFALICA/.

Next, the singers alternate words. Also note the Hymmnos sentence built up across all four lines. This is probably my personal favorite part of the song. |

1 That's a doozy of a nonstandard reading for 朝陽, normally あさひ (asahi). The reading used here, かげろい (kageroi), comes from 陽炎—which itself rarely has that reading and is usually read かぎろう (kagirou)—and is an uncommon term referring to the light of dawn. And wouldn't you know it, 朝陽 means "morning sun".
2 These lines come almost directly from the individual songs, but with an important difference. Instead of the self as the topic and the verb as a simple indicative (I state that I will become song), they now address themselves and use a verb in imperative form (I command myself to become song).
3 Though this block comes directly from Method Metafalica, here it uses a three-beat rhythm instead of the original two-beat rhythm.
4 This section comes from Exec Metafalica, and still has Luca's "aah"s even though they aren't written out in the lyrics. More notably, a tweak to the last line makes it end in 紡ぎ謳 (tsumugi uta, song that we craft) instead of the original 神が謳 (kami ga uta, song of the goddess).
5 I think 清き here is being read さやき (sayaki). It's certainly not きよき (kiyoki) like I'd expect.
Keep in mind that I'm working from a Japanese description of how the language works and Japanese descriptions of the terms. Translations of translations always tend to suffer somewhat in quality.... Also note that I'm not entirely certain of how to write the pronunciations of emotive sound verbs with emotive vowels added for certain combinations that are neither natural in Japanese nor shown in examples on the Hymmno Server.
Refer to my brief Hymmnos reference for general information on how the language works. This song uses both the standard and the Neopact Pastalie variants.
If you have the Hymmnos font installed, the headings below should appear in the script used in the game. Hey, why not? The font is available from the Hymmno Server, where most of my information on Hymmnos comes from. The site is mostly in Japanese, but the download link itself is in English. If you don't have the font, the headings will simply appear as large Latin text.
Hymmnos line: Was yea ra chs ieeya fhyu
Glossed as: 私は希望の風になる
Which means: I will become the wind of hope
Kana reading: ワス イェア ラ チス イーヤ ヒュフ
Romanized: was yea ra chisu iiya hyufu
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this
chs = become / ieeya = hope / fhyu = wind
Literal translation attempt: I am intensely happy to become the wind of hope.
Hymmnos line: Wee ki ra chs wasara dor
Glossed as: 私は豊かな大地になる
Which means: I will become the bountiful earth
Kana reading: ウィ キ ラ チス ワサラ ドール
Romanized: wi ki ra chisu wasara douru
Vocabulary summary:
Wee = quite / ki = serious, focused / ra = want to be like this
chs = become / wasara = abundant, bountiful / dor = earth, continent
Literal translation attempt: I am quite focused on becoming the bountiful earth.
Hymmnos line: en xest eazas yanyaue yor, xest
Glossed as: そして大切な貴方と互いに変換する
Which means: and with you who are precious we will transform each other.
Kana reading: エン ゼスト イーザス ヤンヤゥエ ヨア ゼスト
Romanized: en zesuto iizasu yanyawe yoa zesuto
Vocabulary summary: en = and (then), because of / xest = convert, transform / eazas = together, mutually / yanyaue = precious / yor = you (object) / xest = convert, transform
The double use of "xest" along with the "eazas" suggests to me a sense of "I transform you and you transform me back."
Literal translation attempt: And with you who are precious we will transform each other.
Hymmnos line: 1x1101101001100110111000 >> syec mea.
Glossed as: It isn't, really
Which means: (not applicable)
Kana reading: イ グ イ イ オ イ イ オ イ オ オ イ イ オ オ イ イ オ イ イ イ オ オ オ トラス セク ミーァ
Romanized: i gu i i o i i o i o o i i o o i i o i i i o o o torasu seku mii[a]
Vocabulary summary: 1x1101101001100110111000 = (Hymmnos binary) / >> = (redirection operator) / syec = abyss, depths / mea = me
The 1x1101101001100110111000 >> is essentially setting operational paramaters for program (song) execution, as best I understand. Trying to puzzle out what it means is useless without more information. We do at least know where the settings are going though: "syec mea," deep into myself.
Hymmnos line: enne yanje yehah...
Glossed as: 永遠の幸せを願わん
Which means: We wish for prosperity....
Kana reading: エニェ ヤニェ イェハー
Romanized: enye yanye yehaa
Vocabulary summary: enne = prayer, (positive) desire / yanje = forever / yehah = bliss
"Happily ever after" is a decent translation of Japanese 幸せ (and by extension, Hymmnos "yehah"). Often translated as "happy" or "fortunate", it's neither happy as in cheerfulness nor fortunate as in a lucky roll of the dice. Rather, it's more of a "life is good" sort of concept. "Happily married" is typically this sense of "happy". 嬉しい happy is an emotion that comes and goes with your mood; 幸せ happy is lasting.
Literal translation attempt: We wish for a happily ever after.
Hymmnos line: Was yea ra hymme ar ciel
Glossed as: 謳って世界を
Which means: Sing of the world
Kana reading: ワス イェア ラ ヒュム アル シェール
Romanized: wasu yea ra hyumu aru sheeru
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this
hymme = sing, play, resonate / ar = the / ciel = sky, (loose usage) world
Literal translation attempt: Joyfully sing of the world.
Hymmnos line: Was paks ra kiafa hynne mea
Glossed as: 聞いてこの声を
Which means: Hear my voice
Kana reading: ワス パクス ラ キアファ ヒュン ミーァ
Romanized: wasu pakusu ra kiafa hyun mii[a]
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / paks = nervous, excited / ra = want to be like this
kiafa = listen, ask, hear / hynne = voice / mea = me
Literal translation attempt: Hear my voice, brimming with excitement.
Hymmnos line: Was paks ra ates omnis
Glossed as: 全てを受け入れて
Which means: Accept everything
Kana reading: ワス パクス ラ {ates} オムニス
Romanized: wasu pakusu ra {ates} omunisu
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / paks = nervous, excited / ra = want to be like this
ates = {ates} / omnis = everything
"ates" probably means "accept."
Literal translation attempt: Accept everything with excitement.
Hymmnos line: Was paks ga suwant, mea irs here an yor
Glossed as: 大丈夫 一緒にいるから
Which means: It's okay, I'm here with you.
Kana reading: ワス パクス ガ スワント ミーァ イルス イア アン ヨア
Romanized: wasu pakusu ga suwanto mii[a] irusu ia an yoa
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / paks = nervous, excited / ga = want to escape quickly
suwant = save, help / mea = me / irs = is, exists /
here = here / an = along with, together with / yor = you (object)
Literal translation attempt: Uncomfortably anxious, I'm here to help you.
Hymmnos line: vEsEk sarr, arhou, nafa, infel...
Glossed as: 流れてくる… 温かさ、希望、優しさ、愛する心…
Which means: Flowing into me... warmth, hope, kindness, loving hearts...
Kana reading: ヴェセク サール アーフー ナファ インフェル
Romanized: veseku saaru aafuu nafa inferu
Vocabulary summary: v.s.k = feel (physical), experience / sarr = sunlight, radiance / arhou = hope / nafa = gentle / infel = love
Literal translation attempt: I am glad to feel warmth, hope, kindness, love...
Hymmnos line: fEwErYEneh yor, herr en harr, mea, infel...
Glossed as: 包まれる… 貴方に、みんなに、私に、愛に…
Which means: I am enveloped... by you, by everyone, by me, by love...
Kana reading: フェウェリェン {eh} ヨア へ[ルル] エン ハ[ルル] ミーァ インフェル
Romanized: feweryen {eh} yoa he[ruru] en ha[ruru] mii[a] inferu
Vocabulary summary: f.w.r.n = engulf / eh = (passive voice) / yor = you (object) / herr = he / en = and (then), because of / harr = she / mea = me / infel = love
"herr en harr" (he and she) appears to be a kludge for "everyone." Combining subjects with objects just seems like poor grammar, though. Either "yor" should be "yorr" to make them all subjects (since "me" doesn't have a subject equivalent), or "herr en harr" should be "hes en has" (him and her) to make them all objects.
Actually, that "en" isn't the best choice in the first place, and should probably be "an". "en" is more of an "and" for verb and phrases, while "an" tends to be the "and" for nouns. So in short, I think it would be more grammatical if this line were "fEwErYEneh yor, hes an has, mea, infel..."
Literal translation attempt: I am lovingly enveloped by you, everyone, myself, love...
Hymmnos line: Rra ki ra chs hymmnos, aulla mea tes ciel
Glossed as: 想いを開きわたしは謳になる
Which means: Revealing my feelings, I become song.
Kana reading: [ルル]ラ キ ラ チス ヒュムノス アウラ ミーァ テス シェール
Romanized: [ruru]ra ki ra chisu hyumunosu mii[a] tesu sheeru
Vocabulary summary:
Rrha = consumed with / ki = serious, focused / ra = want to be like this
chs = become / hymmnos = song, Hymmnos / aulla = open, disclose, reveal /
mea = me / tes = (indicates destination) / ciel = sky, (loose usage) world
Literal translation attempt: Intensely focused, I become song and reveal myself to the world.
Hymmnos line: Was yea ra, Rra yea ra synk mahin yor en mea
Glossed as: 手をつなぎ
Which means: Linking hands
Kana reading: ワス イェア ラ [ルル]ラ イェア ラ シンク マァイン ヨア エン ミーァ
Romanized: Wasu yea ra [ruru]ra yea ra shinku maain yoa en mii[a]
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra want to be like this
Rrha = consumed with / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this
synk = pile up / mahin = hand / yor = you (object) /
en = and (then), because of / mea = me
The double emotions are unusual, but I suppose there's nothing wrong with them, particularly since they're so similar.
Literal translation attempt: Very happy, consumingly happy, I put your hand and mine together.
Hymmnos line: Was yea ra, Rra yea ra irs an ar ciel, ee
Glossed as: 貴方と共に美しいこの世界と共に
Which means: with you and with this beautiful world
Kana reading: ワス イェア ラ [ルル]ラ イェア ラ イルス アン アル シェール ィエエ
Romanized: Wasu yea ra [ruru]ra yea ra irusu an aru sheeru yee
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra want to be like this
Rrha = consumed with / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this
irs = is, exists / an = along with, together with / ar = the /
ciel = sky, (loose usage) world / ee = great, exalted
Literal translation attempt: Very happy, consumingly happy, we are as one with the vast world.
Hymmnos line: Was yea ra, Rra yea ra synk sphilar yor en mea
Glossed as: 心を重ね
Which means: Joining hearts
Kana reading: ワス イェア ラ [ルル]ラ イェア ラ シンク スフィーラ ヨア エン ミーァ
Romanized: Wasu yea ra [ruru]ra yea ra shinku sufiira yoa en mii[a]
Vocabulary summary:
Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra want to be like this
Rrha = consumed with / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this
synk = pile up / sphilar = mind, heart / yor = you (object) /
en = and (then), because of / mea = me
Literal translation attempt: Very happy, consumingly happy, I put your heart and mine together.
Hymmnos line: exec hymme METAFALICA
Glossed as: 貴方と共に謳おう この謳を
Which means: I shall sing with you this song.
Kana reading: エグゼク ヒュム メタファリカ
Romanized: eguzeku hyumu metafarika
Vocabulary summary: exec = execute (do) / hymme = sing, play, resonate / Metafalica = Metafalica
Literal translation attempt: [And we] execute Metafalica.
Hymmnos line: ------waath!
Glossed as: -----再生を!
Which means: ------rebirth!
Kana reading: ワース
Romanized: waasu
Vocabulary summary: waath = replay, rebirth
Bam. I love how the shortest lines can have the most impact.
Hymmnos line: Was yea ra weal
Glossed as: (not glossed)
Which means: (not applicable)
Kana reading: ワス イェア ラ {weal}
Romanized: wasu yea ra {weal}
Vocabulary summary: Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this / weal = {weal}
This is the sentence pieced together in the section where Luca and Cloche are alternating words for four lines. The word "weal" is not in the dictionary, but both "wael" (ワェール) and "weel" (ウィー) are, and either could make sense here. The first translates to "joy" and the second to "come true!" However, "wael" seems more likely, and I think it sounds more like that too.
Literal translation attempt: I am very happy for this joy.
Hymmnos line: xE rre sor a.u.k. akata rhaplanca.
Glossed as: ラプランカという少女の物語
Which means: The tale of a girl named Rhaplanca.
Kana reading: ゼ [ルル]レ ソァ アウク アカタ ラプランカ
Romanized: ze [ruru]re soa auku akata rapuranka
Vocabulary summary: x. = (holds own feelings) / rre = (indicates the subject follows) / sor = that, it / a.u.k. = is / akata = tale / rhaplanca = Rhaplanca (person)
Literal translation attempt: I gladly say that this is the tale of Rhaplanca.
Hymmnos line: Harr selena phira, ciel accroad 0 papana
Glossed as: 少女はひとり、小さな種を育てる その国に雨は降らなかた
Which means: She raised a small seed by herself. No rain fell upon that land.
Kana reading: ハ[ルル] セレナ ピラ シェール アクロード ネル パパナ
Romanized: ha[ruru] serena pira sheeru akuroudo neru papana
Vocabulary summary: harr = she / selena = play (music) / phira = seed / ciel = sky, (loose usage) world / accrroad = give to, inflict upon / 0 = 0 / papana = rain
As in EXEC_METAFALICA/., "selena" appears to effectively mean "raise" here.
Literal translation attempt: She raised a seed the world gave no rain.
Hymmnos line: xA rre maoh w.n.s. sasye, tYAnAmLYEn phira.
Glossed as: 少年は少女と出会う。少年は名をマオといった 少年は共に種を育てることに決めた
Which means: A boy met the girl. The boy's name was Maoh. The boy decided to raise the seed with her.
Kana reading: ザ [ルル]レ マオ ウンス サシェ チャナムリェン ピラ
Romanized: za [ruru]re mao unsu sashe chanamuryen pira
Vocabulary summary: x. = (holds own feelings) / rre = (indicates the subject follows) / maoh = Maoh (person) / w.n.s. = visit / sasye = young woman / t.n.m.n = plant (seeds), grow plants / phira = seed
"xA" is perhaps the most common form of "x." and doesn't really say anything meaningful about the singer's emotion, except perhaps attentiveness to the content being sung of, since 'A' is the "focus" family of emotion.
Literal translation attempt: Maoh visited the young woman, and they raised the seed intently for the good of all.
Hymmnos line: Harr crannidale infel en kapa
Glossed as: 彼女は種に水を分け与え育てた
Which means: Sharing her water, she raised the seed.
Kana reading: ハ[ルル] クラニダーレ インフェル エン カパ
Romanized: ha[ruru] kuranidaare inferu en kapa
Vocabulary summary: harr = she / crannidale = share / infel = love / en = and (then), because of / kapa = water
What happened to the "love" in the glossed sentence? It's completely absent despite being plainly there in the Hymmnos.
Literal translation attempt: She shared her love and water.
Hymmnos line: xE rre herr en harr yEyYE phira art kapa enrer.
Glossed as: いつしか人々も苗に水を与えるようになった
Which means: Eventually the people gave the seed water too.
Kana reading: ゼ [ルル]レ へ[ルル] エン ハ[ルル] {yEyYE} ピラ アルト カパ エンリャ
Romanized: ze [ruru]re he[ruru] en ha[ruru] {yEyYE} pira aruto kapa enrya
Vocabulary summary: x. = (holds own feelings) / rre = (indicates the subject follows) / herr = he / en = and (then), because of / harr = she / y.y. = heal, cure / phira = seed / art = by, via / kapa = water / enrer = always, ever
"herr en harr" (he and she) again appears to be a kludge for "everyone." "y.y." should be taken a bit more loosly here for it to make the most sense. Finally, "yEyYE" is so messy I'm not even going to guess what it would look like in kana.
Literal translation attempt: Happily, everyone always gladly nourished the seed with water that it might prosper.
Hymmnos line: Phira selena infel, ciel accroad 0 papana
Glossed as: その国に雨は降らなかった
Which means: No rain fell upon that land.
Kana reading: ピラ セレナ インフェル シェール アクロード ネル パパナ
Romanized: pira serena inferu sheeru akuroudo neru papana
Vocabulary summary: phira = seed / selena = play (music) / infel = love / ciel = sky, (loose usage) world / accrroad = give to, inflict upon / 0 = 0 / papana = rain
"selena" appears to effectively mean "give rise to" here.
Literal translation attempt: The seed fostered love, while the world gave no rain.
Hymmnos line: den, xA rre LYAglansee r.w. walasye Implanta
Glossed as: けれど神の大樹インプランタがあった
Which means: But they had the great divine tree Implanta.
Kana reading: デン ザ [ルル]レ リャグランズィ ルゥ ワラーシェ インプランタ
Romanized: den za [ruru]re ryaguranzi ruu waraashe inpuranta
Vocabulary summary: den = but, however / x. = (holds own feelings) / rre = (indicates the subject follows) / LYAglansee = the goddess / r.w. = help, save / walasye = human / Implanta = Implanta, the divine tree
"glansee" is normally an adjective meaning "exalted, great," but "LYAglansee" is a special case that I wouldn't know about if I hadn't seen a scan of something that mentioned it. It makes sense in a way, since "LYA" as a prefix more or less means "belonging to everyone".
Literal translation attempt: But the goddess saved mankind with Implanta.
Hymmnos line: AH, infel sos ar ciel
Glossed as: 人々がみんなで育てた大樹。大樹は皆を潤した
Which means: The great tree they all raised. The great tree rained upon them all.
Kana reading: {AH} インフェル ソス アル シェール
Romanized: {AH} inferu sosu aru sheeru
Vocabulary summary: AH = {AH} / infel = love / sos = in order that, for the sake of / ar = the / ciel = sky, (loose usage) world
"AH" is likely nothing more than an exclamation.
Literal translation attempt: Ah, love for the world.
Hymmnos line: Was yea ra hymme ieeya en rannef,
Glossed as: 謳えや、希望と感謝の詩
Which means: Sing a song of hope and thanksgiving.
Kana reading: ワス イェア ラ ヒュム イーヤ エン ラニェフ
Romanized: wasu yea ra hyumu iiya en ranyefu
Vocabulary summary: Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this / hymme = sing, play, resonate / ieeya = hope / en = and (then), because of / rannef = thanks, reward
Literal translation attempt: We joyously sing of hope and thanks.
Hymmnos line: chanti ee ar ciel, infel yor.
Glossed as: Sing praise for the irreplaceable world,
Which means: 称えや、かけがえなき世界
Kana reading: シャンティ ィエエ アル シェール インフェル ヨア
Romanized: shanti yee aru sheeru inferu yoa
Vocabulary summary: chanti = praise / ee = great, exalted / ar = the / ciel = sky, (loose usage) world / infel = love / yor = you (object)
Literal translation attempt: Praise for the great world, love for you.
Hymmnos line: ar ciel, en echrra eje.
Glossed as: 世界はひとつ、心もひとつ
Which means: The world is one, our hearts are one,
Kana reading: アル シェール エン エクラ エジェ
Romanized: aru sheeru en ekura eje
Vocabulary summary: ar = the / ciel = sky, (loose usage) world / en = and (then), because of / echrra = resonate, sympathize / eje = heart, feelings
Literal translation attempt: The world and harmonized hearts
Hymmnos line: wLYEnYAs rhaplanca ween fandel walasye.
Glossed as: ラプランカの心は誰にも宿っている
Which means: And Rhaplanca's heart dwells in us all.
Kana reading: ウリェニャス ラプランカ ウィン ファンデル ワラーシェ
Romanized: uryenyasu rapuranka win fanderu waraashe
Vocabulary summary: w.n.s = visit / rhaplanca = Rhaplanca (person) / ween = inside of, in this situation / fandel = numerous, much / walasye = human
Literal translation attempt: (We find/visit +joy/all + purpose/object) Rhaplanca in all of mankind.
