Ai and Junko's arcs in the story are interwoven with each other, and both this song and アツクナレ have parts to play in getting them back into action. However, I've always felt that this one is more Ai's song than Junko's, starting when she seems to take the lead as the two of them come to Sakura's rescue when she blanks on the lyrics (helping launch the #純愛コンビ ship) and culminating in the electrifying performance at the Saga Rock Festival. She has faced her greatest fear and bent it to her will; it no longer has any power over her.
Regardless of the issues she has to deal with, Ai has been in the limelight before. While that was ten years ago, there haven't been any particularly dramatic changes to the industry in the meantime. In a way, a comeback is hers for the taking. She just has to wake up and wish for it, want it, feel it.
