君は僕の希望 [You Are My Hope] (Vocalized Version)

From Revo's ルクセンダルク大紀行 - Linked Horizon [2012.9.19]. I'm a little late getting into Bravely Default, but the characters! The plot twists! The music! And when I stumbled across vocalized versions of the character themes, well, how could I resist?

So here we have Tiz. In a lot of ways, he's the archetype of the jRPG protagonist: inexperienced, untraveled, optimistic, and seemingly not hero material, yet he's thrust into a vast adventure to save the world from a threat he doesn't fully understand, after a sudden disaster claims his village, including his younger brother. And so he joins Angès on her quest to bring light to the darkened Crystals...

1 This is the only place the lyrics have kimi written in katakana, which, along with the vastly different feel of the music here from the rest of the song, suggests that it's a different "you" this time, possibly the brother he lost. (The "you" in the rest of the song is Angès, of course.)

2 The kanji 友達 (friends) are given the reading ひと (people).

3 The kanji 現実 (reality) are given the reading いま (now).

4 The kanji 幻想 (illusion) are given the reading かこ (past).

5 The kanji 自分 (oneself) are given the reading きみ (you).

6 The kanji 弟 (younger brother) is given the reading ひと (person).

7 The kanji 希望 (hope) are given the reading ひかり (light).
