As soon as Maxim reaches the castle, a solder intercepts him.

He did call himself the God of Destruction, after all. Maybe that's all the reason he needs.

"Castle" abruptly resumes as a voice calls from the entrance.

Guy makes an entrance.

Once they've sized each other up, Heidecker suddenly leaps at Guy, who repels him in a brief but flashy melee.

After a long pause, Heidecker steps forward.

The king interrupts.

Selena leaves, and after a brief pause, so does Tia.

In combat, Heidecker is basically an exaggeration of Guy. So, just like Guy, Heidecker has no MP and can learn no spells. While Guy can use heavy weapons and armor, Heidecker can use even heavier weapons and armor, some that no one else can. While Guy has a lot of HP and STR, Heidecker has more, especially of the latter and especially at high levels. While Guy has low AGI, Heidecker typically has little more than half as much. While Guy's MGR is a bit lacking, Heidecker's tends to be lower, moreso after Guy's starts climbing fairly well around level 50 or 60 but Heidecker's remains stagnant. And then there's INT. As his characterization suggests, Heidecker barely has any, but since he doesn't have any spells, and shouldn't normally be using magic-based IP, it's largely irrelevant. On the other hand, he's the only character other than Maxim to have such high GUT. All brawn and no brain, but it's rather disappointing that he also can't actually use any of the Cutscene Power to the Max abilities, not to mention quick reactions, that he showed off earlier.

Curiously, though, Heidecker has a spellcasting animation, which he uses when activating a magic-based IP skill. Guy lacks one. Odd.

Of course, Maxim's insistence on turning this into a sausage fest also means he's now the only spellcaster. While he's not completely ineffective in that role, he's never going to measure up to any of the other magic users unless he gets a ton of stat boosts, and he can't use some of the nicer magic-boosting equipment that Tia and Selena can. This particularly hurts when it comes to healing, as the only healing spell currently available depends almost entirely on INT to power it, so it's not unusual for his to have barely half the effect of theirs. This may be a particularly good time to use the capsule monster that can heal.

Before moving on, one soldier has a line at this point that's interesting more for technical reasons than for its content.

In Japanese, this is an unremarkable line. But in the English version, note the unusual capitalization at the end. That's not a simple typo. The game actually injects Maxim's name here. Which means, if you named him anything else, this line changes to reflect that. This could be intentional, but I suspect that it's merely a clbuttic error. That implies that the script was translated with Maxim's name as a literal string that was only later replaced with the code that stands for it. This just happens to be the only place in the game text where "maxim" appears without it being his name.

There's no real reason to come here, beyond talking to Selena and Tia, or seeing how the locals are reacting to the news. Most have new lines (on that note, changing NPC dialog with changing circumstances is something this game tends to be very good at doing), but they're all still hanging around and don't seem particularly worried in general. I suppose it's better than blind panic, at least.
